Since the Swedish brand belongs to the Continental AG group, it's no surprise that its new winter tire, Gislaved Norf Frost 200, uses a number of solutions that were previously used in models from the German company. This has made it possible to significantly improve most of the characteristics, providing an advantage over competitors.
This model is equipped with an asymmetric tread. In addition to the arrangement of elements, it differs in their reduced sizes. This has made it possible to significantly increase the number of blocks and, accordingly, the number of high cutting edges. They demonstrate the greatest efficiency on snowy roads, where this tire stands out for its excellent performance. In this regard, it is worth noting the unidirectional arrangement of the tread blocks, which makes the grip on snow even more reliable.
Safety when driving on ice is ensured by other gripping edges. Each block has special lamellae that are cut through the entire depth of the tread. The total number of such miniature elements reaches several thousand, and each of them, when in contact with the road surface, forms a sharp edge. Penetrating through the water film on the ice, it allows the tire to grip the micro-roughness on its surface.
The studs have similar functionality, but their functionality and effectiveness have been significantly improved. The steel core has a polygonal shape. Due to several additional edges, the grip on ice is significantly increased. In addition, the shape of the anchor and the seat of the stud has been optimized so that the steel element, when in contact with the road surface, remains perpendicular to it. This also significantly improves the grip properties on icy surfaces.

Straight to the point. I didn't spend too much time choosing, went to the website, read up, thought, and ordered. Driven through winter in extreme northern conditions. I'm sure our temperature conditions for this product are clear. I've driven at temperatures as low as -30 (32) with WtBasto. Below that, I just wouldn't want to torture the car. Well, guys, I first tried Gislaved on my Lada in 2007, it was a Nord Frost 3, and it was just mind-blowing for me at that time. I used them for many seasons and then sold them.
When I decided to buy a 200 from Gislaved, many connoisseurs said "phooey", as it's like it's not even a Gislaved at all, and hardly anyone's ever heard of the company

I bought this tire because in my family the RAV 4 has already had four seasons with Nord Frost 100 (Germany) and it has been a delight. We had doubts about whether to take the Nord Frost 200 for the Mondeo, as it is produced in Russia (if I am not mistaken, in the city of Voronezh).
The impressions are mixed. Maybe due to the 16 radius, which is a bit too small for the Mondeo.<
