Developing the idea of technological protectors, the German company Fulda has developed a line of winter tires for passenger cars Kristall Montero. Advanced technologies were used in production, which made it possible to create a tread pattern that promotes natural snow rolling. A special polymer composition provides optimal stiffness, allowing for tactically good coupling properties and strategically increased service life.
Excellent traction and braking on snow
The experience of previous, well-proven generations led to the Snow Catcher technology, the essence of which is the maximum compaction of snow entering the channels and lamellae of the tread. In the center of the main, road-contacting part of the tire, we see classically directed grooves, which, in combination with reverse intersecting channels and numerous lamellae, form a drainage system. The lamellae in Snow Catcher play a special role. Before contacting the road, their open configuration is observed, in the contact patch area they are compressed, capturing and compacting snow, after which they open again and throw out the contents. As a result, the behavior of the car on a snowy road is easily predictable. In addition, testing has shown that wet asphalt is also not an obstacle to manageable driving, the design copes well with aquaplaning.
Reliable and prolonged operation
In addition to excellent physical characteristics, the model can also boast excellent chemical properties. Thanks to the Bubble Blade technology, the rubber compound has been balanced: it is elastic enough even at low temperatures and at the same time has acceptable stiffness to provide high performance and resistance to wear.
Main features of the Fulda Kristall Montero tire
- diagonal channels and fine lamellation provide good coupling properties;
- the polymer composition is designed for negative temperatures, although it also responds well to harsh dry roads.
