The winter studded tire Fulda Kristall Ice, produced by the renowned and respected German tire manufacturer, is one of the most successful attempts to create an ideal winter tire. At the same time, excellent technical characteristics are amazingly combined with a democratic cost. This model is produced in 12 most popular sizes - from 175/65R14 to 215/55R16. This means that the tire is intended primarily for compact passenger cars used mainly in urban conditions.
This tire is equipped with a symmetrical directional tread pattern, which has an aggressive V-shaped design. At the same time, the tread consists of 4 longitudinal ribs, including two shoulder zones. Both longitudinal ribs, located in the central part of the tread, are represented by two rows of separate blocks, differing in trapezoidal shape and massive size. This technical solution has many important advantages. In particular, due to such a scheme of placement of tread blocks in the central part, the maximum possible contact patch area is ensured, while its stability is independent of road conditions.
At the same time, the grip of the Fulda Kristall Ice tire with a slippery surface is ensured due to the numerous sharp edges formed by the multitude of blocks located in the central part of the tread. To provide additional grip with snowy and icy surfaces, special S-shaped lamellas are placed on the surface of all tread elements. These lamellas form a multitude of sharp edges that effectively pierce the water film formed during movement on an icy surface. In addition, these lamellas significantly improve the stiffness of all tread blocks, which contributes to the improvement of the tire's main working characteristics.
