The winter tire for passenger cars Falken Eurowinter HS415 was fine-tuned at the European Falken test site in Germany, where special attention was paid to behavior on wet roads typical of winter in Central Europe. The result was a model with balanced driving characteristics, perfectly suitable for urban use and high-speed highways.
The tire's tread is made in a directional symmetric design with V-shaped drainage channels, which accelerate the removal of water and snow slush from the contact patch. This solution prevents aquaplaning and improves directional stability on slippery surfaces. The central zone of the tread features a combination of a solid longitudinal rib and two rows of composite blocks, providing precision steering and stable movement at high speed. The shoulder blocks have reinforced edges and increased lamellas, which improves braking efficiency and traction on packed snow.
The system of multi-profile lamellas of various shapes and depths plays an important role in increasing the tire's efficiency on winter roads. It allows the tire's behavior to be adapted to specific road conditions: small lamellas provide traction on ice, and deep cuts contribute to self-cleaning on loose snow. To enhance the effect, 3D geometry of lamellas is used, which prevents excessive block shifting and increases traction stability during active maneuvers.
