The winter passenger non-studded tire Dunlop SP Winter Sport 400 was developed specifically for the winter conditions of Northern European countries and Russia. This model, released in thirty sizes from 175/70R13 to 265/60R18, is perfect for both passenger cars and SUVs and crossovers.
The tire is equipped with a classic high-quality winter model tread with a V-shaped symmetrical directional pattern. Thanks to this, the tire shows the greatest efficiency on snowy and icy roads.
One of the features of the tread pattern is two rows of blocks located in the central part. Their diamond-shaped form and the arrangement of edges at a sharp angle to the direction of movement provided the tire with excellent acceleration efficiency on snow and wet asphalt.
The other two rows of blocks, including the shoulder areas, have a rectangular shape and are arranged almost at a right angle to the direction of movement. The presence of a large number of sharp engagement edges arranged in this way allows the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 400 tire to demonstrate high braking efficiency on any low-friction surfaces.
The absence of studs was compensated by a large number of lamellas and a rubber compound with a high content of silicon-containing components. The presence of many wavy lamellas made it possible to additionally obtain numerous engagement edges that grip snow and ice perfectly. And the presence of silica in the rubber compound gave the tire not only excellent elasticity over a wide temperature range but also significantly improved the durability of the tread.
The main features of the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 400 tire
- The V-shaped design of the symmetrical directional tread pattern made it possible to achieve a significant increase in the contact patch area, the size of which does not depend on the characteristics of the road surface;
- Increased silica content in the rubber compound, which provided excellent elasticity and tread wear resistance;
- Two rows of diamond-shaped blocks in the center of the tread allow the tire to demonstrate excellent acceleration efficiency on slippery surfaces;
- High braking efficiency on snow and ice due to the massive blocks of the shoulder areas and their arrangement at a right angle to the direction of movement.

I bought a car on these tires, got a side abrasion, so I bought two new wheels. Never got stuck on dirty roads in the Moscow region. On asphalt - excellent. Drove deep into the forest in the snowfall - only got stuck when I drove onto my rear end

We've had them for a while now in 175/70/13 size, mostly for city driving where the roads are well-maintained. In principle, I'm satisfied with the tire, it's not the best but not the worst either. It does very well in snow, especially fresh, the car won't get stuck on it, as long as you don't drive on your side. There's a bit of a hum on asphalt (due to the tread pattern), but overall it

The tires are not bad, what can I say.
Installed on a new Toyota Corolla, an automatic car. In winter, I recommend using Tip-Tronic to drive uphill in a stretch. The driving style is calm, measured, smooth.
