Dunlop GrandTrek SJ4

The winter non-studded passenger tire Dunlop GrandTrek SJ4 was specifically designed for passenger vehicles in the SUV category, i.e. for crossovers equipped with all-wheel drive transmission. Thanks to the presence in the lineup of more than a dozen of the most popular sizes, this tire will fit most modern models of high-crossing vehicles.

For this model, the company's specialists gave their preference to a tread with a V-shaped design of a symmetrical directional pattern, which is most effective in harsh winter conditions.

One of the characteristic features of this version of the V-shaped tread pattern is the presence of many small-sized blocks that occupy the entire central part. Due to this design solution, the contact patch always has an increased number of edges, which significantly improved traction on slippery surfaces.

Another feature of the tread pattern of the Dunlop GrandTrek SJ4 tire is the blocks located in the very center of the tread. These blocks are made in the shape of a polygon, located at a right angle to the direction of movement. Thanks to this, it was possible to achieve high efficiency of acceleration, especially on snow.

The shoulder areas of the tread are also represented by two rows of separate blocks that are distinguished by massive sizes. The high constructive stiffness of the tread blocks of the shoulder areas allows for a more even distribution of pressure over the contact patch, which increased the resistance of the tread to wear. In addition, the large height of the blocks in combination with their massive sizes provided the tire with wider possibilities for overcoming sections with deep snow cover.
