The winter tire Dunlop GrandTrek Ice 03, like the previous generation model, is designed for the widest range of modern crossovers and SUVs. It is favorably distinguished from it by improved traction properties on snow and ice, while preserving such "brand-specific" features as sporty-honed handling.
Compared to the previous model, the tread pattern of this tire has undergone significant changes. The design still features a directional and symmetrical arrangement of blocks, between which there are V-shaped drainage grooves. But now the angle of inclination has decreased, and their number has increased due to the reduction in the size of the elements. This made it possible to significantly increase the traction force and deceleration intensity on snow. On icy surfaces, the efficiency of the tread is provided by lamellas and studs. The hard alloy inserts of the steel elements have a complex polygonal shape, thanks to which the edges are arranged in different directions. In turn, the lamellas are spaced at a shorter distance from each other, and the "three-dimensional" structure of their vertical walls ensures the fixation of the slits in the open position when in contact with the road surface. The combination of such technical solutions guarantees reliable traction and stable handling on ice and rolled snow.
Key features of Dunlop GrandTrek Ice 03
- an updated tread pattern with an increased number of V-shaped grooves provides excellent traction properties on snow;
- polygonal hard alloy stud inserts increase the stability of traction on ice;
- an increased number and "three-dimensional" structure of lamellas increase stability on any slippery surfaces.
