In the history of each tire manufacturer, there is at least one model that has made it very well-known. For the Thai company Deestone, such a model is the Swamp Witch, known in the post-Soviet space as the "Swamp Witch" or "Baba Yaga". The presence of unofficial names is a vivid confirmation of the presence of outstanding abilities in this tire. Most of them are revealed on coatings with low carrying capacity and high moisture content, for the operation of which it was specifically designed.

Aggressive V-shaped tread pattern

This tire is one of the few examples of a harmonious combination of an aggressive exterior and high operational properties. The design of its tread looks extremely effective and provides excellent traction and coupling qualities on waterlogged dirt roads. It contains a large number of very high blocks that converge at a sharp angle in the central part. Here they form a kind of continuous longitudinal rib, which, in combination with the sharp-angled shape of the blocks, provides the tire with low rolling resistance and maneuverability.

The rest of the blocks form very long traction edges. Since they are all located predominantly transversely, the tire demonstrates excellent longitudinal traction and coupling properties. They are maximum, first of all, on waterlogged earth and sandy soils, thanks to the ability of the tread "not to get clogged". Additionally, this is facilitated by the curved shape of the blocks. Due to it, the tread pattern simply pushes the sand or earth out, giving the tire very confident behavior.

Reinforced 6-layer carcass

Another characteristic feature of the "Swamp Witch" is its low weight and very high strength. This was achieved due to the 6-layer construction of the carcass, made entirely of synthetic materials. At the same time, all layers are located, including under the sidewalls, which allows the tire to be operated at minimal internal pressure. Additionally, the use of modern synthetic materials made it possible to significantly increase not only the carrying capacity but also the smoothness of the ride and resistance to punctures and cuts.

Soft rubber compound at low temperatures

The popularity of this model in our country was largely contributed by the physical properties of the rubber compound of its tread. Thanks to a number of components, it remains elastic even at negative temperatures, which gives the tire good traction on snow. Additionally, the soft composition of the compound allows using a popular technique for overcoming sections of dirt roads with low carrying capacity, such as reducing the pressure inside the tire.
