The Dayton D100 summer tire is one of the debut models of the brand owned by Bridgestone, whose specialists were involved in its development. This means that its design features modern technologies and materials, which has had a positive impact on its operational characteristics. They are at a fairly decent level, especially considering the attractive cost of this tire.
Double longitudinal rib in the center of the Dayton D100
One of the key elements of the tread pattern of this model is the longitudinal rib that runs exactly along its middle. It consists of two "halves" separated by a wide drainage groove. Each of them has a solid structure that is highly resistant to dynamic deformation. In motion, these design features improve several important operational properties of the tire at once. First of all, this is the directional stability at high speed and fast, precise responses to steering wheel turns, which together significantly simplify the process of controlling the car.
At the same time, it is impossible not to notice the high efficiency of the drainage groove located between the "halves" of the central longitudinal rib. It is achieved both due to the location and due to the significant internal volume. This largely provides the tire with excellent resistance to aquaplaning.
Stability in turns
The central longitudinal rib is adjacent to a multitude of curved blocks that end only on the tire's sidewalls. Due to this shape, they become maximally wide in the shoulder areas. This feature allows the Dayton D100 tire to demonstrate increased stability when maneuvering and in turns.
Another advantage of this design is the increased efficiency during acceleration and deceleration. This is ensured by the numerous contact edges of significant length, which are located at a slight angle to the direction of movement.
