DescriptionDescription Cooper Discoverer Sport HP
The all-season passenger tire Cooper Discoverer Sport HP, produced by a well-known manufacturer from the USA, is designed for powerful passenger cars with increased off-road capability, which is indicated by the high speed index assigned to this tire.
The design of the directed symmetric tread pattern is distinguished by an aggressive exterior, reminiscent of the letter "V". This scheme for arranging tread elements is characterized, first of all, by a large contact area and low rolling resistance, which, in combination with high fuel efficiency, provides excellent traction, grip, and braking characteristics.
The tread pattern consists entirely of individual blocks of original shape. The two rows of blocks located in the center of the tread, due to their shape, form one wide rib, which contributes to excellent directional stability when driving at high speeds. The two adjacent rows consist of massive blocks, thanks to which it was possible to increase the efficiency of the Cooper Discoverer Sport HP tire when driving on hard surfaces, and their sharp edges improved grip on snow, sand, and mud. Another distinctive feature of this tire is its remarkable resistance to aquaplaning, thanks to the multitude of wide water-draining channels, which is also a characteristic feature of the V-shaped tread pattern of the tire. It is also worth noting the presence on the surface of each block of self-locking lamellas, which, by increasing the stiffness of each of them, improve the basic performance characteristics of the tire.
Thanks to the reinforced design of the shoulder areas, the tire, when passing turns, demonstrates stable and safe behavior that is not prone to skidding. In addition, the rounded profile of the shoulder areas, by increasing the resistance to deformations that occur when passing turns, successfully fights against uneven wear, which leads to a reduction in the life of the tire.
Main features of the Cooper Discoverer Sport HP tire
- an aggressive V-shaped design of the directed symmetric tread pattern provides excellent grip, high acceleration efficiency, and braking;
- high directional stability, thanks to two central rows of blocks, which, with their special shape, form one single central rib;
- excellent grip when cornering and high resistance to uneven wear are provided by reinforced shoulder areas with a rounded profile;
- stable and safe driving on wet roads, thanks to high resistance to aquaplaning;
- high fuel efficiency, provided by the original tread pattern design.

price-quality, i.e. for such quality I would pay more
In the spring, the question arose about buying summer tires, having listened to all the pros and cons, two options remained: Pirelli and Cooper. The sellers really wanted to sell Pirelli (probably for some reason - maybe there's more profit from it), but I decided to trust Cooper and didn't make a mistake:
- Control on a dry road
- Steering in the wet
- Control on dirt

Bought last 2 summers as a summer tire. Except for the noise – no complaints. The road to the dacha often ruts, drove without any problems, and on asphalt the car as if glued even at 180 km/h. Only had to buy two new tires, as they had worn down, due to the rear axle not being adjusted.

The tire ran about 45,000 km before the sidewalls were eaten away due to uneven wear before a big trip. I think it would have run 60,000 km. Overall, I'm satisfied. Noisy, but noisier than the TOYO OPIT. The type of noise is a drone. I don't think I would choose it again. I'd probably look at TOYO.
