Description Continental ExtremeWinterContact
Initially, the Continental ExtremeWinterContact winter tire was offered exclusively in Canada and Scandinavia. For some time now, this model has been available in our country, where it is perfectly suited for operation, especially at temperatures below 7 degrees Celsius. It was this temperature threshold that was determined by German tire manufacturers as the "starting point" after which this tire demonstrates its strongest advantages. These include excellent traction not only on snowy and icy roads but also on dry asphalt surfaces.
Excellent performance on snow
One of the features of the asymmetric tread of this tire is the presence of a large number of block elements. They are divided by wide drainage grooves. At the same time, in the central part of the tread, there are blocks of smaller size, and in the shoulder zones, their more massive analogs are located transversely. The combination of such design features allows the tire to demonstrate not only good traction but also excellent directional stability on snow.
High braking efficiency
When developing this model, special attention was paid to ensuring maximum performance during braking. This is the main function of several thousand lamellas cut into all tread blocks and located predominantly transversely. In addition, it is impossible not to note the physico-chemical characteristics of the compound, which remains elastic even at low temperatures. This also has a positive effect on braking efficiency, especially on winter surfaces.
Key features of Continental ExtremeWinterContact
- excellent performance on snow thanks to an asymmetric tread pattern with a large number of individual blocks;
- a short braking distance, especially on icy surfaces, is provided by numerous lamellas and an elastic compound at low temperatures;
- excellent handling in adverse weather conditions is ensured by the effective operation of numerous drainage grooves in the shoulder zones of the tread.
