Description Continental ContiWinterViking 5
Continental ContiWinterViking 5 – a tire for passenger cars used during the winter period. It has a radial carcass, providing reliable traction on dry and wet, snowy and icy surfaces. It ensures good acceleration and safe braking on compacted snow and bare ice, as well as on asphalt. Due to the low noise level, it provides driving comfort.
The tread pattern design is symmetrical and directional. The tread elements are arranged to provide stability and handling. Compared to previous models, this tire has a larger number of traction edges per square centimeter of tread. This reduces the braking distance on road surfaces covered with ice, snow, and water-ice film. Additionally, the traction edges provide excellent traction when accelerating on winter roads. The blocks have numerous lamellae that allow the tread to "hug" the slightest irregularity on the road and maintain close contact with it. The outer shoulder area of the tire with large blocks is designed to work in harmony with the electronic stability system.
The water evacuation system consists of a complex network of conducting elements. Two longitudinal channels (straight and wavy), numerous transverse and diagonal grooves provide instant water evacuation from under the contact patch.
Key features:
- a special design of the outer shoulder rib interacts with the electronic stability system, ensuring safe movement;
- reduced risk of aquaplaning and slushing due to the developed drainage system;
- excellent traction due to the numerous traction edges.
