The winter tire Continental ContiWinterContact TS 830P ContiSeal is a special version of the same model for passenger cars, the equipment of which does not imply the use of spare wheels. Perhaps the only difference is the ability of the tire to independently eliminate minor diameter up to 5 mm through damage to the tread part of the protector.
Hole elimination
The tire uses ContiSeal technology, which significantly increases reliability. Its key component is a special viscous material applied to the inner side of the tire during production. When the tread part of the protector is pierced, it is sealed with a hole using the air coming out, and quickly hardens when in contact with it. The properties of the applied material are such that it continues to act even after the object that caused the puncture has fallen out of the protector. This solution provides sealing of damages up to 5 mm in diameter, the vast majority of which have smaller sizes.
Intensive deceleration at low coefficient of friction
Compared to most analogs of other brands, this tire is distinguished by a high intensity of deceleration at a very low coefficient of friction with the road surface. To a large extent, this is due to several features in the design of the tread pattern. First of all, it is a high resistance to longitudinal deformation of the blocks in the central part of the tread. In addition to them, the tread contains a huge number of lamellas. All these narrow slits are located almost perpendicular to the direction of movement, and their wavy shape significantly increases the length of the formed gripping edges.
Excellent traction on snow
On a snowy surface, the tire demonstrates an extremely effective implementation of traction. This is also due to several features of the tread pattern. Its shoulder zones have an open design with numerous rectangular blocks. They are turned across the movement. The edges formed by them, due to their significant length and depth of the tread, allow the tire to effectively grip the soft snow cover, providing acceleration in such conditions with minimal slipping.
Increased mileage
One of the characteristic features of this model is a guaranteed large run before replacement. This is due not only to the use of ContiSeal technology. The asymmetric tread pattern used here is optimized in terms of uniformity of pressure in the zone in contact with the road surface. As a result, a significant reduction in the level of abrasive impact on the tread part of the protector is ensured, which wears out not only at a significantly lower rate but also more evenly.
Main features of Continental ContiWinterContact TS 830P ContiSeal
- exceptional reliability on poor roads due to the use of a system for eliminating through punctures;
- large blocks and wavy lamellas in the central zone significantly reduce the length of the braking distance on slippery surfaces;
- wide and high shoulder blocks allow effective traction on snow;
- an optimized tread pattern reduces abrasive wear, providing a longer tire life before replacement.
