Description Continental ContiTrac
The Continental ContiTrac tire for off-road vehicles is favorably distinguished by its versatility of application. This model is offered by the German manufacturer in a wide range of sizes, which allows it to be installed even on the largest off-road vehicles. Additionally, it is positioned as an all-season model, which makes it possible to operate it both in summer and in winter. At the same time, it demonstrates excellent performance, regardless of road surface characteristics and weather conditions.
Handling and high efficiency when braking on dirt roads
The shoulder areas of the tread of this tire are characterized by an open design, which includes a large number of individual blocks. These blocks form two longitudinal ribs, with the blocks closer to the center of the tread being smaller in size, and their analogs on the edge of the tread being more massive. These differences are due to their functional purpose, with the smaller blocks improving longitudinal traction on dirt roads and the more massive elements near them providing stability during maneuvering and a short braking distance on both dirt and asphalt roads.
Multifunctional drainage grooves
Thanks to the open design, the tread pattern of this tire contains a large number of drainage grooves. These grooves not only effectively remove water from the contact patch but also perform functions not typical of them, such as self-cleaning from dirt particles and small stones that get into the drainage grooves. To do this, they have a conical shape in the side projection, which literally pushes out foreign objects.
Good directional stability
Another key feature of the tread of this tire is the central longitudinal rib. This element, due to its design features, provides a significant part of the excellent performance on the highway. It is characterized by the absence of gaps throughout its length and sufficiently massive dimensions, which gives it deformation resistance. This significantly improves directional stability at high speeds and reduces the tire's reaction time to steering wheel turns, making it faster and more precise.
Key features of the Continental ContiTrac tire
- good performance on dirt and winter roads thanks to the open design of the shoulder areas, which contain a large number of blocks with notched lamellas;
- the conical shape of the longitudinal drainage grooves allows them not only to remove water from the contact patch but also to push out foreign objects and soil particles when driving on dirt roads;
- excellent directional stability and refined handling due to the solid construction and massive dimensions of the longitudinal rib in the center of the tread.
