Description Continental ContiSportContact
The Continental ContiSportContact summer tire can be boldly recommended to the vast majority of car enthusiasts due to its phenomenal operational and consumer qualities. The tire is available in several dozen of the most popular sizes from 13 to 20 inches, which allows it to be installed on almost any model of modern passenger cars, from compact city cars to the most powerful sports sedans and luxury coupes.
The main distinctive feature of this tire is its phenomenal grip on wet roads. This was achieved thanks to a comprehensive approach to the development of the symmetric tread pattern design. In particular, it was possible to ensure the highest efficiency of water removal from the contact patch, thanks to the use of four longitudinal grooves with great depth and width. To further improve the water-repellent characteristics, the tire's tread is equipped with a system of transverse channels.
Another characteristic feature of the Continental ContiSportContact tire is its exceptional directional stability when moving at very high speeds, which was achieved thanks to the presence of a rigid and solid longitudinal rib in the central part of the tread.
The design of the shoulder zones of the tread was developed taking into account the high loads experienced by the Continental CSC tire when cornering at high speed. To this end, German tire engineers significantly increased the width of the shoulder zones, using a rounded profile. This solution significantly improved the reliability and stability when cornering and increased the tire's resistance to uneven wear due to the rounded profile of the shoulder zones.
Key features of the Continental ContiSportContact
- A rigid and wide central rib of the tread provided the tire with excellent directional stability in various driving modes, as well as a lightning-fast response to even the slightest turn of the wheel;
- Phenomenal resistance to aquaplaning, ensured by the high efficiency of the tire's drainage system;
- Excellent grip on the road when cornering, thanks to the wide shoulder zones.
