The Continental ContiSportContact 6 summer tire is one of the novelties from the German tire giant, which, like all five of its predecessors, boasts technical characteristics noticeably higher than those of most direct competitors. The superiority was achieved through the use of the latest technological developments and modern materials.
Refined Black Chili rubber compound
This model became one of the first tires from this German manufacturer whose tread was made from the refined Black Chili rubber compound. In its current version, the compound allows the tread to fit road irregularities even more closely. At the same time, the atomic-level bonds formed between the tire and the road during contact increase the adhesion of the rubber compound. This significantly improves traction regardless of road conditions and driving mode.
Fast and precise steering responses
The tread pattern of this tire features special elements that provide optimal transmission of forces from the steering rack by redirecting them. These are longitudinal ribs, of which there can be three or four, depending on the tread width. Each of these elements has increased stiffness and resistance to deformation, which improves handling during straight-line driving.
When maneuvering, a significant portion of the external load is transferred to the outer side of the tread. It is for this reason that the shoulder zones located here have massive dimensions. At the same time, the blocks located here, although they have a different design, are combined into groups that work as a single unit. During cornering, they rely on each other, which improves traction and handling.
Innovative construction and manufacturing materials of the carcass
A number of sizes of this model are designed for speeds of up to 360 km/h. To achieve such high performance, the German tire manufacturers had to significantly alter the construction of the breaker. The Aralon 350 material is used in its manufacture, which consists of two cords of aramid fibers intertwined with a nylon cord. The resulting cord is located in the upper layer of the carcass, directly under the breaker. This allows the tire to maintain its shape under the influence of centrifugal forces when driving at high speeds.
