The Continental ContiSportContact 5 ContiSilent summer tire is a special version of the same model for passenger cars. The key difference from it is the reduced level of low-frequency noise and vibrations. In all other respects, this is the same tire for the most powerful and fastest versions of passenger cars. It is offered in more than fifty sizes for wheels with a diameter of 17 to 22 inches.

Acoustic Comfort

For its Ultra High Performance category, the tire has an excellent level of acoustic comfort. This is largely due to the benefits of ContiSilent technology, which has been applied to this model. Its essence lies in the use of a layer of polyurethane foam attached to the inside of the tread. A special adhesive compound with high thermal resistance is used. The polyurethane foam itself also has this ability. This material prevents the spread of noise and vibrations, the source of which is the friction of the tire against the road surface. The solution is highly effective, as the noise level inside the car can be reduced by 9 dB. At the same time, the maximum increase in acoustic comfort is achieved when installing a set of such tires.

Increased Braking Efficiency

This model contains many solutions that have proven their high efficiency in other tires of the German brand. One of them is the Black Chilli technology used in the creation of the tread rubber compound. Its composition includes special polymers that change elasticity at the molecular level depending on the mode of movement.

When braking, the tread rapidly heats up, providing maximum grip. The efficiency of the tire's work when slowing down becomes significantly higher. When driving at a uniform high speed, the tread becomes harder. In addition to increasing the stability of the coupling properties, this leads to a decrease in heating and, as a consequence, a decrease in rolling resistance.

Excellent Handling in Any Conditions

The tire is equipped with an asymmetric tread, "trademark" for the products of the German brand, with several functional areas. One of them is the shoulder zones, which contain large P-shaped blocks. These elements provide the tire with exceptional stability at any lateral accelerations. At the same time, the steering wheel provides very clear feedback, greatly simplifying the process of controlling the car at high speed.
