To reduce rolling resistance, the tire developers optimized the sidewalls and flanks - the rings that hold the tire to the rim. The use of original polymer chains in the rubber compound limited the movement of chemical mixture components and increased grip on wet road surfaces. The application of a flat profile and optimization of tread depth made it possible to achieve a reduction in brake pad mobility, which reduced lateral and longitudinal rolling. The deformation of the tread in the contact patch was reduced by the use of very thin lamellas, which are small cuts in the tread blocks. Their edges work like windshield wipers on wet roads, breaking up the water film during movement and reducing the braking distance. Additionally, the edges of the tire blocks maintain their stability and effectively transmit braking energy, while reducing rolling resistance.
