Despite the manufacturer positioning the Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport AS off-road tire as an all-season model, considering the climate conditions of our country, this should be treated with caution. Its most significant advantages are demonstrated in the absence of snow cover on the roads. Moreover, they should be asphalt, which is characteristic of all models in the Dueler line with the H/P abbreviation in the name.
Increased contact patch size
To a large extent, this model owes its excellent grip on dry roads to the increased area of the contact patch. Its large size was made possible by the use of a number of effective solutions. First and foremost, this is a tread profile with a virtually "zero" radius in its central part. At the same time, the curvature of the shoulder zones was selected in such a way that during maneuvering, the shape and size of the contact patch remain unchanged. The final result of these technical tricks was very stable and predictable handling.
Tread with increased number of gripping edges
Another no less important feature of this tire is the presence of an increased number of gripping edges. The overwhelming majority of them are formed not by blocks, but by lamellas cut into them. Being located at different angles relative to the direction of movement, they not only provide additional grip on slippery surfaces but also give it stability and reliability.
