Description Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza
The summer passenger tire Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza, like all other representatives of this family, is designed for SUVs. But, unlike most of them, this model was developed for operation mainly on roads with a solid surface. However, thanks to the universal tread pattern, it does not fail even before dirt roads.
UNI-T AQII
This model owes its original design to the UNI-T AQII technology, the first generation of which appeared back in 1996. Currently, it represents a whole complex of technological solutions aimed at achieving the optimal balance between the main operational characteristics. It is this feature that has distinguished almost every Bridgestone passenger tire for many years.
3D-lamellas
This technological solution was borrowed from the famous non-studded passenger tires, where it showed high efficiency. The essence of this technology is that the tread blocks are equipped with special elements - lamellas. Their main functional purpose is to increase the stiffness of each individual tread block. When in contact with the road surface, the lamella walls close tightly, making the block very stiff. Thanks to this solution, the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza tire demonstrates excellent handling on dry asphalt, which for a long time was the "Achilles' heel" of most SUV models.
Wide central rib
The tread pattern of this model is built according to classical canons. However, there was also room for original technical solutions here. And this time, it was borrowed from tires for passenger cars. We are talking about a longitudinal rib located in the center of the tread. It is distinguished by very massive dimensions and a very rigid design, since the central rib is a single element. With this solution, Japanese tire makers were able to solve two problems at once - to provide almost sports handling and reduce rolling resistance. I.e. give this SUV tire the characteristics that are more typical of passenger models.
H.E.S
This abbreviation hides a special design of the drainage grooves. They have a ribbed surface that reduces water flow resistance. This significantly improved the speed of excess moisture removal from the contact patch.
Block walls with variable angle
Since the tread of this tire is literally replete with individual blocks, this could not but affect the noise level while driving. This drawback was decided to be leveled by a special design of the block walls. They are made with a different angle of inclination, which, in combination with a variable pitch of their placement relative to each other, made it possible to minimize the likelihood of resonance noise and vibrations.
Optimized block shape
As mentioned earlier, the tread of the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza tire has a significant number of individual blocks made in the shape of a quadrangle. At the same time, their faces are located at a different angle relative to the axis of rotation of the wheel. The blocks located in the central part of the tread are located at an acute angle. This arrangement makes it possible to provide high acceleration efficiency, as well as excellent directional stability, especially on slippery surfaces. As for the blocks located in the shoulder areas of the tread, their faces are directed almost at a right angle. Thanks to this, the tire demonstrates a short braking distance, both on wet and snowy surfaces.
In addition, it is impossible not to note the solid distance between all the tread blocks. In combination with the large tread depth, this allows the tread to capture significant amounts of soil, ensuring excellent traction. At the same time, the significant distance between individual tread elements allows it to be effectively cleaned of foreign inclusions, which also has a beneficial effect on traction characteristics.
Main features of the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza tire
- Three-dimensional lamellas, when in contact with the road surface, significantly increase the stiffness of the tread blocks, which improves handling on dry asphalt;
- A very wide rib in the central part of the tread provides the SUV tire with almost sports handling, while reducing rolling resistance at the same time;
- The ribbed surface of the drainage groove walls reduces the resistance of the water flowing through them, which increases the speed of its circulation;
- The variable angles of the block walls significantly reduce the noise level.
