Description BKT Rock Grip
The BKT Rock Grip truck tire has a quite specific scope of application. This model was specially designed for operation on special wheel equipment used in the mining industry. It is characterized by an increased tread depth, excellent traction properties on rocky surfaces, and a very long service life.
Specialized tread pattern
Since this model was initially developed for very specific operating conditions, it was equipped with a symmetrical non-directional tread pattern, which is distinguished by a minimal number of individual elements. In essence, it consists of many transverse ribs connected by rigid bridges. With their help, it was possible to solve several very important tasks at once. First of all, this is a very low rolling resistance, as well as significant contact patch sizes. Thanks to this, the tire has excellent fuel efficiency and superior traction.
Excellent traction properties in the longitudinal direction
As mentioned earlier, the tread pattern of this model contains a large number of transverse ribs connected by rigid bridges in the central part. In the shoulder areas, these tread elements form a large number of individual blocks, which in turn provide the contact patch with multiple traction edges. At the same time, all of them are located transversely, but at a significant angle relative to the direction of movement, which allows the tire to demonstrate excellent longitudinal traction properties while reducing rolling resistance and noise and vibration levels.
Main features of the BKT Rock Grip tire
- the tire is designed for wheeled special equipment used in the mining industry;
- the original design of the symmetrical non-directional tread pattern is optimized for operation on rocky soils;
- low rolling resistance is achieved due to rigid bridges between transverse tread ribs located in the central part;
- excellent traction properties in the longitudinal direction are achieved due to numerous traction edges formed by a multitude of blocks located in the shoulder areas of the tread;
- high resistance to abrasive and uneven wear is ensured by special components of the rubber compound and optimized distribution of external pressure on the bearing surface.
