The tread pattern is dotted with numerous narrow slits. They form thousands of sharpened edges that allow for intense acceleration and deceleration on the most slippery surfaces. The lamellas have a "three-dimensional" profile of the walls, which makes the traction and braking properties more stable. The use of an elastic rubber mixture based on "silica" in the manufacture of the tread enhances the coupling properties in such conditions.
