Longitudinal drainage grooves of increased width
A significant part of the traction properties of this model on a wet road is provided by the drainage system of its tread pattern Austone CSR66. It contains three longitudinal and numerous transverse grooves. At the same time, the longitudinal grooves perform the function of accumulators for water removed from the contact patch. It is for this reason that the Chinese tire manufacturers have made them wider than one might expect on an economy-class tire. This was quite enough to minimize the risk of aquaplaning even at high speeds.
Zigzag traction edges
The two longitudinal ribs located in the central part of the tread pattern have an original design. It is characterized by the presence of continuous zigzag traction edges, which are formed by diagonal drainage grooves and lamellas located on the surface of the tread blocks. Thanks to this design feature, the tire demonstrates excellent traction properties in the longitudinal direction and directional stability.
Two central longitudinal ribs
Between the two above-mentioned tread elements, a longitudinal rib is located, divided into two equal parts by a wide drainage groove. Thanks to this design, the tire demonstrates increased resistance to aquaplaning with very accurate and extremely fast reactions to the driver's actions.
