Atlander LanderVan ATL28 – a model designed as a universal solution for commercial transport, but its consumer properties go far beyond standard cargo tyres. The key features are high load-carrying capacity while maintaining "passenger car" responsiveness to the steering wheel and uncompromising grip on wet surfaces.
Stability against inertial forces
The tread pattern is based on five longitudinal ribs that perform the role of force guides. This arrangement is not accidental: the width and stiffness of each rib are calculated to counteract lateral forces during high-speed manoeuvres. This eliminates "wandering" and sluggish reactions typical of many commercial models, achieving linear feedback on the steering wheel. At the same time, this scheme minimizes deformation of the tread in the contact patch, which directly inhibits the development of feathering wear.
Tread profile
The profile curvature is selected not by template, but by simulation method. The optimized radius provides uniform distribution of contact pressure across the entire width of the tyre, regardless of load. This gives a dual effect:
- on dry asphalt – maximum use of the grip area for a short braking distance;
- on wet surfaces – effective displacement of the water film from the central zone, reducing aquaplaning.
Hydrodynamic damper and "extender" of resource
The shape of the drainage elements deserves special attention. The applied zigzag lamellae perform two strategic tasks:
- stability on wet surfaces: the multiple sharp edges of the lamellae work like pumps, actively removing water from the contact zone and simultaneously creating additional gripping edges;
- the curved shape distributes the stress-deformed state within each block more evenly than straight cuts. This reduces peak loads on the edges of the elements and prevents micro-cutting of the rubber.
Strength reserve
The manufacturer has deliberately increased the initial depth of the tread pattern in the tyre – this gives a triple advantage:
- the functionality of the lamellae is maintained throughout the entire lifespan;
- the thermal capacity of the rubber mass is increased, which protects the carcass from overheating during prolonged operation;
- an additional barrier is created against punctures and cuts.
The rubber compound used in this model is enriched with high-dispersion soot and polymeric modifiers, providing increased resistance to abrasive wear. This compound does not become brittle by the end of the season and maintains elasticity, which directly affects the tread life.
Key features of Atlander LanderVan ATL28:
- longitudinal ribs with segmentation provide directional stability and instant response to steering wheel turns;
- zigzag cuts improve water drainage and grip on wet roads, while also damping loads and preventing uneven wear;
- increased tread depth reserve in combination with a wear-resistant rubber compound extends the service life;
- the model is equally effective on cargo vans, minivans, and motorhomes, offering a balance of load-carrying capacity, fuel efficiency, and acoustic comfort.
