Galaxy Beefy Baby SDS SH LH with Aperture — a tyre-wheel unit produced by the full mould casting method. Unlike pneumatic counterparts, it lacks internal air under pressure, which eliminates punctures, ruptures, and sudden pressure loss — the main risks on construction sites and waste processing facilities. The Indian manufacturer Galaxy offers two versions: with a technological hole (Aperture) and without it, allowing adaptation to specific operating conditions.
Aperture Technology
The key innovation of this model is a through hole in the tyre's diaphragm, which performs two critical functions:
- a damping effect — when driving over uneven surfaces, the air passing through the hole is compressed and expanded, creating an additional pneumatic cushion inside the monolith. This dampens the shock loads transmitted to the axle and loader frame, directly increasing operator comfort;
- forced cooling — unlike solid cast tyres, where heat from deformations accumulates inside, the hole provides air circulation, effectively dissipating excess temperature from the tyre's core. This radically slows down thermal ageing of the rubber.
Thus, the solution with the hole combines the durability of a solid cast construction with partial pneumatic comfort, which is especially in demand on rough sites.
SDS System
Severe Duty Solid means that the tyre is designed for ultra-heavy loads. Due to the special geometry of the carcass and the increased thickness of the rubber array in the contact area, it was possible to achieve a 40% increase in carrying capacity compared to standard pneumatic counterparts. This is achieved through:
- even distribution of pressure across the entire contact patch area;
- absence of sidewall deformation under maximum load.
Traction, Self-Cleaning, and Wear Resistance
The tread pattern is of the "cleat" type — a classic solution for industrial tyres, but in Galaxy's version, it has been reinforced. Massive tread lugs with aggressive angles of inclination provide maximum grip on loose, slippery, and oily surfaces, as well as effective self-cleaning of tread grooves from dirt, preventing "clogging" and loss of traction. The optimized arrangement of the cleats reduces vibrations during movement, which further improves comfort and reduces wear on the chassis.
Industrial Rubber Compound
The compound used in the tyre is designed for extreme temperatures and mechanical loads. High-strength fillers and reinforcing fibres have been introduced into the composition, which provide resistance to cuts, increased wear resistance, and preservation of elasticity over a wide temperature range. In combination with the solid cast construction, this gives virtually unlimited resistance to punctures, and periodic replacement is only required due to tread wear.
Key Features of Galaxy Beefy Baby SDS SH LH with Aperture:
- the solid cast construction, combined with the wheel rim, eliminates punctures, ruptures, and air leaks, ensuring uninterrupted equipment operation;
- the technological hole (Aperture) improves damping and operator comfort, as well as provides forced cooling;
- the SDS system increases the carrying capacity by 40% compared to pneumatic counterparts;
- the aggressive tread pattern with reinforced tread lugs guarantees excellent traction, self-cleaning, and wear resistance.
