The Pirelli Scorpion Pro M+S motorcycle tire was specifically designed for racing in the motocross world championship. At the same time, this model has a fairly wide range of applications, as it is intended not only for sports but also for "civilian" use. This tire is perfect for a pleasant pastime with your favorite two-wheeled toy on rough terrain, where it can demonstrate all its advantages, of which there are many.
Pyramidal-shaped tread blocks
The tread pattern of the Pirelli Scorpion Pro M+S model contains several functional zones. The central part is designed to provide maximum traction when driving straight, and the shoulder zones provide the motorcycle with stability when performing maneuvers or changing direction.
Based on the functions, each of these zones is significantly different in structure from each other. The only constant is the pyramidal shape of the blocks. Thanks to this, these tread elements literally dig into sandy or earthen soil, providing excellent traction with it.
Polyester cord
Since motocross motorcycles are not heavy, but at the same time require minimal unsprung mass, the Italian tire manufacturers preferred to lighten the Scorpion Pro M+S by equipping it with a polyester carcass. This material is characterized not only by its extremely low weight and excellent strength but also by its excellent elasticity, thanks to which the tire absolutely painlessly withstands even very significant impact loads that occur during jumps. As an additional reinforcement measure, a nylon breaker is used, thanks to which the tread of this model is highly resistant to punctures and cuts.
Optimized rubber compound
Often, stages of the motocross world championship are held at relatively low temperatures. It is for these conditions that the rubber compound has been optimized, with special components added to make the tread more elastic at low temperatures.
In addition, the composition of the rubber compound is characterized by the presence of a number of substances that provide the tread with a number of other important properties. First and foremost, this is resistance to abrasive wear, which allows the tire to demonstrate a very long service life.
