Its appearance is owed to the stiff competition that was imposed on its predecessor by a number of competing brands, particularly the German company Metzeler. Thanks to this, owners of large touring enduros have the opportunity to purchase a truly great product with an excellent combination of operational and consumer qualities, except for the cost. Due to objective circumstances, it turned out to be significantly higher than that of its predecessor.
Universality of application
This tire is distinguished by almost the same universality of application as large touring enduros, capable of speeding along the highway and with no less success making their way through rough terrain. However, the previous model also "knew how" to do this, having managed to stay on the conveyor for 5 years, thanks to these seemingly incompatible abilities.
When developing the Michelin Anakee 3 tire, French specialists paid special attention to ensuring maximum performance on wet roads, as well as giving handling precision and sportiness. For this, it was necessary to almost completely revise the design of the tire. One of the innovations was a new "sharpened" profile, which made it higher in the central part. This allowed increasing the contact patch size when tilting the motorcycle by approximately 13%.
Another change was the rubber compound, or rather its composition. It is distinguished by a higher content of silicon-containing elements, thanks to which the tread has become significantly better at smoothing out irregularities on the road surface, while also gaining increased resistance to abrasive wear.
Main features of the Michelin Anakee 3 motorcycle tire
- the tire is perfectly adapted for operation on touring enduros, for which it was specially created;
- the sharpened profile provides a significant increase in the contact patch size at a small angle of inclination of the motorcycle, which ensures more reliable traction with the road surface;
- the optimized composition of the rubber compound with a higher content of silicon-containing components has improved traction on slippery surfaces, while also increasing resistance to abrasive wear;
- numerous conical lamellas provide excellent traction properties on any surface.
