Unlike most other "off-road" models from Michelin, which are designed primarily for racing, the summer motorcycle tire M12 XC was specifically designed for exciting off-road leisure activities. That's why its design is mainly adapted to mixed compacted soils, allowing it to feel confident on most types of surfaces.

Increased lifespan

Since the Michelin M12 XC model is designed for everyday use, the company's French specialists have paid particular attention to durability during its development. Compared to its predecessors, this indicator has been increased by a quarter, which is quite a lot.

This was achieved mainly due to the strengthening of the tire's carcass design and the rubber compound, which includes a number of new-generation components that have increased the tread's resistance to abrasive wear.

Two tread patterns

Unlike most other representatives of the "off-road" line of motorcycle tires, the tread pattern of this model for the front and rear wheels has significant differences. In particular, the central part of the front tire's tread is occupied by two sets of square blocks arranged in a checkerboard pattern. Each of them contains an increased number of gripping edges, which are formed by straight and cross-shaped cuts. This arrangement, combined with a narrow semi-circular profile, provides excellent directional stability and high braking efficiency even at significant motorcycle lean angles. Additionally, the checkerboard arrangement of the blocks has allowed for a significant increase in the tread's service life due to more even distribution of the external load across the contact patch.

As for the rear tire's tread pattern, it is distinguished by an increased contact patch due to a more flat profile, as well as the presence of massive blocks. They are arranged in multiple transverse rows with a concave shape, which allows the tire to push off the ground rather than digging into it.
