The Metzeler Roadtec 02 motorcycle tire represents an attempt by the German manufacturer to create a "2 in 1" model that combines the characteristics of tires from two categories - Sport Touring and Super Sport. The belonging to one of them entirely depends on the style of managing the bike.

One of the key differences of the tire is the design of the tread pattern. It contains grooves with a variable width. During dynamic riding, their narrowest part, using the elasticity of the rubber mixture, closes, which increases the contact patch, changing the behavior of the tire from "tourist" to "sporty". This feature in no way prevents the grooves from performing their main function, ensuring the reliability of the traction properties even in heavy rain, regardless of the angle of the bike. The arrangement of the drainage elements is also specific. They are completely absent on the narrow strip in the center of the tread pattern, which is more than enough to provide high stability during straight-line movement.
