The Maxxis Maxxcross IT motorcycle tire is a great example of how a tire's name can say a lot about its functional features, especially for those who know what motocross is. What sets this model apart from other representatives of the line is the scope of application - various types of medium-hard earth and soil. These are the ones that prevail on Italian motocross tracks, which is reflected in the name of this tire.
Two modifications
Under the name Maxxcross IT, the Asian manufacturer offers two models - M7304 (front wheel) and M7305 (rear wheel). The main difference is not only the width of the tread, but also the composition of the rubber mixture and the size of the tread pattern blocks.
Excellent directional stability
The design of the tread pattern of this model is distinguished by the presence of a clear boundary between individual functional zones. In particular, its central part contains many transversely arranged rectangular blocks, some of which have a double structure. This solution allowed the developers to improve several operational properties at once. First of all, this is directional stability, stability of coupling properties when moving in a straight line, high efficiency when accelerating (rear wheel) and braking.
Excellent grip of Maxxis Maxxcross IT at significant tilt angles
A significant part of the tread blocks of this tire is located in the shoulder areas, essentially on its sidewalls. In combination with their small size and great height, this makes it possible to provide exceptional stability when maneuvering and cornering.
In addition, the blocks entering the sidewall of the tire improve another operational property. We are talking about the coupling properties on soft soils, in which these tread elements "work" like grouser, providing excellent efficiency, both when accelerating and braking.
Main features:
- the Maxxis Maxxcross IT tire is designed for earth and soil surfaces of medium (intermediate) hardness;
- two versions are available - for the front and rear wheels;
- excellent directional stability, thanks to the design of the central part of the tread with rectangular blocks;
- reliable grip when cornering is provided due to the location of numerous blocks almost on the sidewalls of the tire.
