Like other representatives of the X Line Energy line, the Michelin X Line Energy Z truck tire is designed for high-tonnage trucks. But unlike them, this model was developed specifically for operation on the steering axle.
Increased contact patch size
In the development of this tire, the French tire makers paid much attention to ensuring maximum stability and traction. To do this, they increased the width of the contact patch. On average, by 7% compared to the previous generation model. This was achieved due to the design of the carcass with an increased breaker, as well as a flat tread profile.
Long service life
Among other advantages resulting from the change in carcass design and flat tread profile, it is worth noting the optimization of the distribution of external pressure over the contact patch. It has become very uniform, which, in turn, has increased the tread's resistance to uneven wear. Resistance to abrasive wear is ensured by the characteristics of the compound, which includes a number of components specifically included for these purposes.
High braking efficiency
The directional tread pattern is characterized by a fairly aggressive V-shaped design, containing three longitudinal ribs in the center and two shoulder zones. All these tread elements in the process of movement form a large number of transverse edges of adhesion, which leads to a significant increase in braking efficiency. At the same time, the tire in such a mode of movement demonstrates high stability due to the continuous design of longitudinal ribs in the center and rigid bridges between blocks in the shoulder zones.
