Michelin Announces Recall of Truck Tires

The company Michelin has initiated a voluntary recall of truck tires Michelin X Multi Z and X Line Energy Z in size 355/50 R 22.5, manufactured between January 1, 2023, and February 28, 2025. According to the EU's rapid alert system for dangerous non-food products, the reason for the recall is that a crack may form on the sidewall of the tires, which can expand over time and eventually lead to a sudden loss of pressure.

Michelin clarifies that the crack can appear near the barcode, and over 26 months, approximately 47,100 tires of the specified type were produced, sold in 32 European countries and in New Zealand, with the manufacturer estimating that no more than 470 of them are defective.

"Safety is the top priority for Michelin," the company emphasizes, adding that dealers and automakers have been informed about the recall, and all customers will be offered an equivalent replacement from the brand's range. Since the tires were also sold in the original equipment sector, it is possible that automakers will announce the recall in the near future.
