Among other models for buses, the Michelin X COACH XD tire stands out for its unique properties, primarily its traction on slippery ice and snow surfaces. At the same time, a high level of safety in adverse weather conditions was achieved without compromising other operational properties, from fuel efficiency to durability.
"Double Wave" Lamellas
A characteristic feature of the tread design of this tire is the presence of a significant number of traction edges. Most of them are formed by numerous lamellas cut into the blocks of the central part of the tread pattern. At the same time, the wavy profile of their walls not only fixes them in the open position but also significantly limits the mobility of the blocks in all directions. As a result, the tire demonstrates not only excellent traction on rolled snow and ice but also very reliable and predictable handling with clear feedback.
Increased Mileage
The durability of this tire is ensured by several design features at once. First of all, it is a reinforced carcass and a flat tread profile, which ensures a very even distribution of external pressure over the contact patch. In combination with the physical properties of the compound, this makes it possible to provide excellent resistance of the tread to both uneven and abrasive wear.
Key Features of Michelin X COACH XD
- increased contact patch and "double wave" lamellas improve traction on both dry and icy and snowy surfaces;
- high level of comfort due to the multi-step arrangement of tread blocks;
- durability ensured by a carcass resistant to dynamic deformation and a compound resistant to all types of wear.
