A distinctive feature of the LingLong F855 truck tire is its scope of application, limited to medium-duty trucks and small and medium-sized buses. At the same time, it is impossible not to note, albeit with some reservations, the possibility of operating throughout the year. The universality of this model is ensured by the physical properties of the rubber compound, which retains its elasticity even at negative temperatures, as well as the tread pattern, which is characterized by a high content of gripping edges.
Cross-shaped lamellas
The central part of the LingLong F855 tread pattern consists of three fairly narrow longitudinal ribs, each of which contains a huge number of individual blocks. They are formed by numerous cross-shaped lamellas located on their surface. This design provides the tire with a number of important advantages. First and foremost, it is the formation of multiple additional gripping edges, located both longitudinally and parallel to the direction of movement.
At the same time, it is impossible not to note the high resistance to dynamic deformation of each of the blocks. The fact is that at the moment of contact with the surface of the road, the walls of the lamellas, due to their S-shaped profile, are very tightly fixed between themselves, which allows to significantly increase the stiffness of the tread element. Thanks to this feature, the tire demonstrates excellent directional stability, as well as very fast and extremely accurate reactions to the driver's actions.
Reinforced shoulder zones
In contrast to the longitudinal ribs in the central part, the shoulder zones of the tread are distinguished by more massive dimensions, which, in combination with the rigid composition of the rubber compound, gives this part of the pattern very high resistance to dynamic deformation. Due to this design, the Chinese tire manufacturers were able to make the contact patch as wide as possible, while giving it a rectangular shape that contributes to a more even distribution of external weight on it.
