Description Giti GT978+
The letter T in the name of the GT Radial GT978+T truck tire was borrowed from the English word "trailer", which refers to the trailer equipment used for cargo transportation. This model is designed specifically for it, developed by specialists from a very well-known tire manufacturer from China. Among other beneficial features of this tire, one cannot help but note its very low rolling resistance, high braking efficiency, and excellent load-carrying capacity.
Short braking distance
The symmetrical non-directional tread pattern of the GT Radial GT978+T model features five longitudinal ribs, three of which form its central part. These tread elements contain a large number of lamellas cut through the entire depth of the tread. During movement, they form a multitude of engagement edges, due to which the tire demonstrates very high efficiency when braking.
Excellent load-carrying capacity
The basis of the design of this model is a very strong and impact-resistant carcass with a all-steel cord. However, it's not just this that provides the tire with a high load-carrying capacity. Another important factor is the design of the shoulder zones, each of which is a very strong and deformation-resistant element. At the same time, their configuration provides the maximum size of the contact patch, giving it a practically rectangular shape. Due to this, the distribution of external pressure over the support surface becomes very even, which, in turn, leads not only to an increase in load-carrying capacity but also to an increase in resistance to uneven wear.
Main features of the GT Radial GT978+T tire
- the tire is designed for operation on trailer axles of trucks;
- excellent directional stability and fuel economy are provided due to the rigid design of the five longitudinal tread ribs;
- short braking distance thanks to numerous transverse engagement edges formed by a multitude of lamellas in the central part of the tread;
- the reinforced design of the shoulder zones provides the contact patch with maximum size, giving it a practically rectangular shape, which, in turn, contributes to a more even distribution of external pressure over the support surface.
