The GT Radial GT879T truck tire is designed for use on the steering axles of long-haul trucks and tourist buses. This model is distinguished by excellent traction under any road and weather conditions, as well as low costs, which are due to the low cost, low rolling resistance, and a rubber compound with high resistance to abrasive and uneven wear.
Excellent braking efficiency
The central part of the tread pattern of this model consists of three longitudinal ribs, each of which is formed by separately standing quadrangular blocks. During movement, they form a large number of gripping edges, a significant part of which is located transversely. Thanks to this design, the tire demonstrates excellent braking efficiency. In addition, it is impossible not to note the arrangement of blocks with a different pitch relative to each other, which significantly reduces the likelihood of resonance noise and vibrations.
Reinforced shoulder areas
In contrast to the central part, the shoulder areas of the tread are a solid, non-composite element, which gives them high deformation resistance. At the same time, their massive size has made it possible to significantly increase the contact patch area, while giving it a practically rectangular shape. Such design features provide the tire with a very even distribution of external pressure over the contact patch, which, in turn, has made it possible to increase the carrying capacity and resistance of the tread to uneven wear.
