The GT Radial GT678 truck tire was specifically designed for light and medium trucks used in regional transportation. This model, intended for the drive axle, features excellent traction and a very long service life, as well as a very attractive price. Wide and deep tread pattern
The tread pattern of this model features a quite original design with a clear division into separate functional zones. The central part consists of two longitudinal rows of rather small blocks of complex polygonal shape, which are assembled in groups of two elements. In turn, the shoulder zones contain more massive blocks. This design allowed to significantly expand the contact patch, while giving it a practically rectangular configuration, which significantly increases the resistance to uneven wear. In combination with the increased tread depth, this allowed to significantly increase the service life of the tire.
Diagonal blocks
The aforementioned blocks are characterized by a diagonal arrangement. Similarly, the edges formed by them are also arranged, which, in addition, have a very large extent, especially in the shoulder zones. Thanks to these design features, this model demonstrates very high traction properties in the longitudinal direction.
Conical grooves and open shoulder design
The design of the shoulder zones is another interesting design feature of the tread pattern of this model. It is distinguished by the presence of a large number of diagonal blocks separated by fairly wide drainage grooves with a conical profile. Thanks to this, the tire tread very effectively removes even large stones that get into it, ensuring reliability and high passability.
