Description Giti GT279
The GT Radial GT279F truck tire is designed for use on the steering axle of trucks used in interregional transportation. This model is favorably distinguished by its excellent suitability for prolonged high-speed driving, while providing excellent traction in any road and weather conditions.
Multi-ribbed tread pattern
Unlike a significant part of the tire products of similar purpose, this model is equipped with a tread pattern that contains a reduced number of individual elements. These are longitudinal ribs, three of which are located in the central part, and two more are shoulder zones. The reduction in the number of individual tread elements made it possible to make them as wide as possible, which made it possible to solve a number of important problems. First of all, this is resistance to dynamic deformation, thanks to which the tire demonstrates excellent directional stability and very fast and accurate reactions to steering wheel turns. In addition, the rigid longitudinal ribs made it possible to significantly reduce rolling resistance, which, in turn, led to a decrease in operating costs.
Excellent braking efficiency
Another characteristic feature of the tread pattern of this tire is the presence of a large number of straight lamellas. These individual elements are located on all longitudinal ribs, forming a large number of traction edges when in contact with the road surface, which are predominantly transverse to the direction of motion. This design feature made it possible to significantly shorten the braking distance, especially on wet roads.
Main features of the GT Radial GT279F tire
- the tire is designed for the steering axle of trucks;
- five massive longitudinal ribs, having very high resistance to deformation, provide excellent directional stability and low rolling resistance;
- reinforced shoulder zones expand the contact patch, giving it a practically rectangular shape, which, in turn, optimizes the distribution of external pressure on the contact patch, thereby improving load capacity and resistance to uneven wear;
- short braking distance due to the numerous traction edges formed by straight lamellas.
