Description Firestone FT522
The Firestone FT522 truck tire is installed on the trailer axles of commercial vehicles used for transportation over medium and long distances. The model is characterized by excellent performance on dry and wet roads, wear resistance and a long service life.
Optimized tread pattern
The efficiency of the tire in any road conditions is largely due to the design of the tread pattern. It features 6 solid longitudinal ribs, 4 of which are located in the central part, distinguished by a small width. These tread elements reduce rolling resistance and improve directional stability. Their curved shape improves acoustic comfort and reduces the likelihood of foreign objects getting stuck in the tread. The shoulder ribs, on the other hand, are made massive. These elements provide the tire with stability during maneuvering, as well as optimize the distribution of external load on the contact patch. This reduces wear, increasing the tire's service life. Also worth noting is another advantage of this design, namely resistance to aquaplaning. The increased number of drainage grooves allows for efficient drying of the contact patch.
Long service life
The tire is distinguished by a long service life. One of the factors contributing to this is the characteristics of the rubber compound. It has high resistance to abrasive wear, punctures and cuts. In addition, a two-layer tread is used here, the outer running part of which can be restored by both welding and re-treading the pattern.
