The commercial tire Firestone FT522+ is installed on steering and driving axles. It is beneficially distinguished by its ability to reduce operating expenses. It is characterized by low rolling resistance and resistance to abrasive wear, stability and precision in handling at high speeds.
The tread pattern has a closed design with enlarged shoulder areas. In combination with the optimized profile of the tire's tread, this makes the contact patch larger, giving it a nearly rectangular shape. As a result, the traction properties are enhanced and stabilized, especially at high speeds and during maneuvering. On wet surfaces, their lack is compensated by the increased size of the drainage grooves and the presence of numerous wavy lamellas, forming a large number of sharp edges.
