Tire specifications
DescriptionDescription Barum NR52
The Barum NR52 truck tire is designed for installation on any axle of trailers and semi-trailers of trucks used for transporting goods over any distance. This model is beneficially distinguished by the possibility of re-grooving the tread, which significantly extends its service life.
Multi-rib tread pattern
The Czech tire manufacturers, developing the NR52 model, preferred to use a typical tread pattern for tires of this specialization. It consists of five longitudinal ribs of approximately equal size, separated by drainage grooves. This arrangement of tread elements provides the tire with a whole range of extremely important qualities. First and foremost, it is excellent directional stability at any speed. Additionally, the large number of massive tread elements made it possible to maximize the contact patch area, which in turn provided the tire with excellent road grip.
Excellent fuel efficiency
Among the distinctive features of the tread pattern of this model, it is worth noting the complete absence of individual blocks with lateral edges, located perpendicular to the direction of motion. Thanks to this feature, the rolling resistance is at a minimum level, which has a most beneficial effect on fuel consumption, and therefore on the economic efficiency of operating this tire.
Long service life
As mentioned earlier, the Barum NR52 model is beneficially distinguished by a long service life. It is ensured by several design features of the tire. First and foremost, it is the uniform distribution of external weight over the entire contact patch area, achieved due to the reinforced construction of the shoulder zones, their variable-radius profile, and the equal size of the longitudinal ribs of the central part of the tread. Additionally, the Barum NR52 has a special carcass design, thanks to which the tire tread is suitable for re-grooving.
The next factor that ensured this tire a long service life is the rubber compound. Some components were introduced into its composition, which significantly increased the tread's resistance to abrasive wear.
Excellent resistance to aquaplaning
Thanks to the large number of longitudinal ribs, the tread pattern of this tire contains a sufficiently developed drainage system, represented by four longitudinal grooves. Their impressive volume allows the tread to easily get rid of almost any amount of water, leaving the contact patch almost dry, thereby providing more reliable grip on a wet road.
Key features of Barum NR52
- five longitudinal ribs provide the tire with excellent directional stability;
- low rolling resistance due to the absence of lateral edges;
- long service life, thanks to the possibility of re-grooving the tread, wear-resistant rubber compound, and resistance to uneven wear;
- excellent grip on wet roads is ensured by the high efficiency of the drainage system.
