Description Barum BS71
The Barum BS71 truck tire is distinguished by its exceptionally versatile properties, with the exception of a slightly narrow specialization. This model is designed for installation on any axles of trucks that operate predominantly off paved roads. However, this does not mean that it is impossible to drive on regular roads. On the contrary, this tire has sufficiently good traction properties on asphalt.
"Closed" design of the central part of the tread
Among the distinctive features of the tread pattern of this model, the construction of the central part should be specially noted. It is a very wide longitudinal rib divided into two parts by a very narrow drainage groove. On the highway, such a tread element, which has high resistance to deformation changes, provides the tire with excellent directional stability and low rolling resistance.
As for the behavior of the double central rib off paved roads, it will also be very useful. Due to the absence of breaks throughout its length and the increased hardness of the tread rubber compound, this element protects the tire from almost any aggressive impact from the road surface.
Block structure of the shoulder areas of the tread
Since the Barum BS71 tire was initially designed by Czech tire manufacturers for operation predominantly off-road, they tried to give it the maximum passability indicators. That's why the shoulder areas got the so-called "open" design. Each of them is a separate row of very massive blocks with elliptical edges. The combination of such sizes and shape provides the tire with excellent traction and coupling characteristics on rocky, muddy, and sandy areas, allowing it to demonstrate confident behavior when overcoming them. In addition, it is impossible not to note the very large distance between the blocks, thanks to which the tread easily releases even large particles of soil, thereby providing higher passability indicators.
Special rubber compound
The rubber compound of the tread of this tire was also selected taking into account very unfavorable operating conditions off paved roads. Components were added to its composition that gave the tread exceptional resistance to aggressive mechanical effects, including abrasive wear.
Main features of the Barum BS71 tire
- the tire is perfect for installation on the steering and driving axles of trucks that operate predominantly off-road;
- the "closed" design of the central part of the tread, which is a double longitudinal rib, provides the tire with painless operation in harsh off-road conditions;
- the block structure of the shoulder areas of the tread, consisting of massive blocks with elliptical edges, allows the tire to confidently overcome even the most difficult areas;
- excellent self-cleaning properties of the tread, which increase the passability indicators;
- excellent directional stability, reduced rolling resistance due to the high deformation resistance of the central longitudinal rib.
