In the world of commercial transportation, the tyre has ceased to be just "rubber". It is a tool for managing the cost per kilometre. The Aplus SL102 model is designed as a solution for the steering axle of highway tractors.
Vector stability
The basis of directional stability lies in the classic, but deeply calculated five-rib tread pattern structure. Unlike aggressive off-road designs, monolithic longitudinal ribs with variable stiffness across the width are used here. The central rib acts as a guiding rod, providing zero play during straight-line movement, while the shoulder areas, on the contrary, have a slightly rounded profile to optimize the contact patch.
Each rib has zigzag-shaped lamellas embedded in it. These slits open up when in contact with wet asphalt, creating additional grip edges, but at the same time, do not disrupt the integrity of the rib.
Hydrodynamics
The four longitudinal grooves have an expanding geometry towards the centre. This allows avoiding the aquaplaning effect even on tracks with deep water. At the same time, due to the increased contact area, the load on the tyre is distributed as evenly as possible per square centimetre. This gives a double effect:
- the peak pressure on the shoulder areas, which usually suffer from stepwise wear, is reduced;
- the grip during braking is improved, as the entire volume of the rubber works in sync.
Longevity formula
The manufacturer has adapted the compound specifically for intercity transportation. Polymers with high molecular weight have been introduced into the mixture, which provide increased abrasive resistance. But the main innovation is the low internal friction (hysteresis). The tyre heats up less at speeds of 90+ km/h, which directly extends the service life.
The radial carcass is reinforced with metal cord with a high density of threads per inch. Such a design not only withstands overloads but also provides damping of micro-vibrations from the road surface, which keeps the vehicle's chassis intact.
Key features of Aplus SL102:
- certified for installation on the steering axles of trucks and buses;
- the monolithic rib structure provides impeccable trajectory holding at high speeds, reducing the number of corrective steering movements;
- the optimized groove geometry guarantees rapid water drainage, maintaining control on wet surfaces;
- the rubber compound with enhanced wear-resistant additives significantly increases the tread life.
