The full-size crossover "Zeekr 9X" was released in 2025. It became the first serial model of the Chinese brand with a hybrid power plant. Its central element is a huge radiator grille, one of the largest among modern hybrid SUVs. The front optics are made in the brand's signature two-level style, but on the 9X, it has become significantly more complex and technological. Adaptive LED modules with intelligent light beam control are used. Large body surfaces are combined with retractable door handles, hidden sensors of electronic assistants, and massive wheel arches. Despite the impressive size, the aerodynamic drag coefficient was kept at a relatively low level. Much attention was paid not only to design but also to aerodynamic efficiency, since high-speed driving on electric traction required a reduction in energy losses. The body profile looks especially unusual. SEA-S platform

Together with this crossover, the new modular SEA-S platform debuted, representing the development of the SEA platform, already familiar from other models of the Geely concern. However, in the case of the 9X, the design was seriously redesigned taking into account the car's dimensions and the presence of a hybrid power plant. Its working voltage is 900 V, which is extremely rare in this segment. This decision is due to the desire to minimize energy losses under high load. An additional advantage was the ability to accelerate the process of charging the traction battery.

The basis of the power plant is a 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine of the DHE20-PFZ series, working together with several electric motors. Depending on the version, the total power reaches from 898 to 1401 hp, and the maximum torque exceeds the indicators of many supercars. The most powerful modification accelerates to 100 km/h in approximately 3.1 seconds.

A hybrid transmission DHT is used, adapted for work with several electric motors. The electric component provides almost instantaneous response to accelerator pedal pressure, and the gasoline engine is connected mainly under high load or at high speed.

One of the most impressive parameters was the electric range. Depending on the version, it reaches 355-380 kilometers according to the CLTC cycle, which is comparable to many full-fledged electric vehicles. The total range exceeds 1200 kilometers. CATL batteries with a capacity of 55 or 70 kWh are used as traction batteries. The onboard charger works with super-powerful DC sources, allowing you to replenish the charge from 20 to 80% in just 10 minutes.

The chassis is matched to the capabilities of the power plant. It uses two-chamber pneumatic struts with adaptive shock absorbers and active stabilizers of transverse stability. The ground clearance can change in a wide range, and the maximum value reaches approximately 288 mm. The chassis operation is controlled through the Haohan AI Chassis kit, which analyzes the road surface and changes the damping parameters, stabilizer stiffness, and torque distribution between the wheels in real-time. As a result, with a mass of over 3 tons, the 9X can maintain a high level of stability even on high-speed highways. Additionally, a fully controlled chassis and a torque vectoring system are used.

Interior from a business jet

The salon provides maximum comfort for the passengers of the second row. The standard machine configuration is 2+2+2 with separate seats on each row. The key visual element is the displays on the front console, primarily the 17-inch OLED screen of the multimedia complex. In turn, the instrument panel is supplemented with a projection display under the windshield. In the second row, there are seats with ventilation, heating, massage, and "zero gravity" mode functions. Electric footrests and separate climate control panels are provided. One of the most unusual features was the Naim audio system with a power of around 3800 W. It includes dozens of speakers, even built into the headrests of the seats. The trim uses natural leather, metal, wood, and multi-layer sound insulation.

The 9X has one of the most complex complexes of electronic systems among Chinese SUVs. The equipment includes lidars, high-resolution cameras, radars, and powerful NVIDIA DRIVE Thor computing units. The manufacturer claims support for level L3 autonomous driving functions on individual markets. The complex can independently maintain movement on the highway, change lanes, and perform part of the maneuvers in dense traffic. The safety system includes automatic emergency braking, protection from side wind, intelligent body stabilization, and active collision prevention. Zeekr also paid great attention to the protection of the battery and the rigidity of the body.
