Rivian R1T is a compact electric pickup truck produced by an American manufacturer. The model was first released in 2021, showcasing high-tech equipment and non-trivial driving characteristics.

Powertrains

The vehicle was initially presented in a version with four motors, two on each axle. Their total power output was 835 horsepower, 1231 Nm. Thanks to precise control of the torque of each wheel, a high degree of passability and control over the vehicle was achieved. The acceleration to 100 km/h in this modification was 3.3 seconds.

In 2023, a two-motor version appeared with a power output of 533 horsepower and 830 Nm. Several options for battery packs with capacities of 105, 121, 135, and 180 kWh are provided as power sources. The smallest battery capacity allows for a range of up to 370 km on a single charge, and the maximum capacity - up to 640 km. Among the features, it is possible to highlight the ability to install additional battery compartments in the pickup body, which will allow increasing the range. In addition, the manufacturer has implemented the possibility of their recharging from a similar vehicle in field conditions.

Technical base

The pickup is built on a universal platform that can be used for the development of other models. It allowed for an almost ideal weight distribution of 51/49, which positively affected the handling efficiency. The vehicle is equipped with a double-wishbone suspension at the front and a multi-link construction at the rear. An important feature is the pneumatic suspension system, which allows changing the ground clearance from 200 to 370 mm, increasing the vehicle's passability. This factor also affected the height of the ford that can be overcome, which is record-breaking for electric pickups - 1.1 meters.

Equipment

The vehicle has a fairly extensive list of equipment, which includes a fully digital instrument panel with a 12-inch screen. All main options, including the activation of the climate control system, are implemented through a 15-inch touchscreen.

The pickup has two additional trunks: one in the engine compartment and the second between the cabin and the cargo compartment. Thanks to the latter, it is possible to transport long-sized sports equipment.
In addition to the standard assistants that warn of a collision, provide support when driving on roads with different surfaces or off-road, there is also an "autopilot" function. The latter is implemented using 12 ultrasonic sensors, 11 cameras, and 5 radars. Such a system provides autonomous driving on straight road sections but requires constant driver attention.

It should be noted that the manufacturer releases not only cars but also charging stations for them. This applies to both stationary models for public use and home systems with fast charging.
