The Evolute i-SPACE was announced in the second half of 2023. The car is positioned as a mid-size crossover, being the first model of the Russian brand to be equipped with a hybrid powertrain.

Initial Version

The car is based on the Fengon E5 crossover from 2022, essentially being one of its variants, designed for use as a family vehicle. In all trim levels, the model offers a three-row cabin, with the second row having longitudinal adjustment, and the "gallery" - a folding mechanism that creates a flat cargo area in the trunk.

The hybrid powertrain is based on a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a power of 110 hp and a torque of 135 Nm, which is used as a DC generator. The wheel rotation is carried out by a single electric motor located on the front axle, which, at peak loads, produces up to 177 hp and 300 Nm, powered by a traction battery with a capacity of 17.5 kWh. A fully electric operating mode is provided, ensuring a range of up to 87 kilometers. When connected to the internal combustion engine, autonomy reaches 1150 kilometers. The car is equipped with an on-board charging device designed to work with AC power sources up to 6.6 kW.

At the start of sales, the crossover was available with a single trim level. The list of equipment included 2-zone climate control, panoramic roof glazing with an opening section, a complex of electronic driver assistance systems, front seats with electric adjustments, ventilation, and heating, as well as a Huawei HiCar multimedia system with a 12.3-inch display, 12-channel acoustics, surround-view cameras, a dash cam, and surround-view cameras.

Updated Version

In the summer of 2025, the updated version of the crossover debuted. The key external difference was the design of the front part, where a "solid" fairing appeared instead of a radiator grille, and its function was performed by a special air intake in the front bumper. The pattern of the LED headlights and rear lights has changed. More innovations were in the salon. First of all, a 5-seat version appeared in the lineup. The front console and central tunnel with a 2-story layout have changed significantly, where there is no transmission selector, and the freed-up space is used for wireless charging platforms, additional USB ports, and cup holders. In turn, transmission control is carried out through a steering wheel switch.

In technical terms, the main innovation was the appearance of a modernized hybrid powertrain. Its base was a 1.5-liter "atmospheric" gasoline engine with a power of 95 hp, which, as before, is used as a DC generator. The output of the single electric motor has been increased to 218 hp and 330 Nm. The traction battery has also been replaced. The lithium-iron-phosphate battery has a capacity of 25.1 kWh, providing a range of up to 165 kilometers on electric traction. When connected to the gasoline engine, this figure reaches 1250 kilometers.
