The BMW Alpina XB7 debuted in the German brand's product line in 2020. The vehicle is a "charged" version of the flagship crossover from BMW, differing from other models that have previously undergone a modernization cycle in terms of concept and use.

The XB7's distinctive feature was a 4.4-liter V8 gasoline engine, to which a pair of 2-scroll turbochargers was added, borrowing this solution from the B7 sedan. Under peak loads, such a power unit produces up to 621 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, which is much more than the standard X7 with the M50i index, offering only 530 horsepower and 750 Nm. The engine works together with an 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system, the settings of which have been changed, including the front axle engagement clutch and differential lock. The crossover's standard equipment includes an adaptive steering mechanism, which is missing in the M50i. The chassis has received different shock absorbers and air suspension elements with changed settings, which, when the Sport+ mode is activated, reduce the clearance by 40 mm. Another innovation affected the braking system, where more efficient mechanisms from Brembo appeared.

Inside, the car is practically identical to the standard model, with a few exceptions. One of them is the instrument panel display with an original color scheme, and the other is the possibility of getting a Lavalina natural leather trim, available for an additional fee.
