Baojun 730 – a minivan with a seven-seat salon, which is a joint development of SAIC-GM-Wuling. First introduced in 2014, after undergoing a global update, it remains relevant today.

The beginning of the story

The first generation, which debuted in 2014, was equipped with two engine options. A 1.5-liter engine with 110 hp and a torque of 146 Nm, as well as a 1.8-liter engine with 135 hp. A five-speed manual transmission was used. A distinctive feature of the model was its suspension, which was developed by specialists from Lotus. A classic structure based on MacPherson struts was used at the front, and a torsion beam at the rear. As a result, the minivan had increased payload capacity while maintaining a sufficiently high level of ride comfort. The equipment included ABS, a system for distributing braking forces, an optional rearview camera, stabilization, traction control, and an "assistant" for emergency braking.

Generation 2

In 2017, an updated version was introduced, which received not only a new exterior but also a power unit. It was a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with 150 hp and 230 Nm. A dual-clutch automatic transmission was added to it.

In 2018, a hybrid system was introduced, which is based on a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, supplemented by a 48V generator. It is complemented by a 6-speed manual transmission only. During the same period, the production of the 1.8-liter version was discontinued.

The car received more modern equipment, as well as improved ergonomics of the salon, thanks to which the internal space was optimized. This was reflected in the more comfortable placement of passengers. A touch screen of the multimedia system appeared on the central panel.
