Aito M5 was introduced at the end of 2021, becoming the debut model of the brand, created jointly by the telecommunications giant Huawei and the company Seres, owned by the Sokon Industry Group machine-building concern. The car presented in 2021 was created on the basis of the Seres SF5 crossover, being close in dimensions to the Jaguar F-Pace and Genesis GV70, but differing from them by the presence of a hybrid power plant under the hood. It contains a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline "four" with a capacity of 125 horsepower, which is used as a direct current generator for the traction battery with a capacity of 40 kWh. In turn, it powers two electric motors located on each of the axles. The base version has a total output of 428 horsepower, and the more expensive one has 496 horsepower. The range is up to 1100 kilometers.

In terms of equipment, the crossover stood out for the presence on the front console of a wide-format display with a diagonal of 15.6 inches, which is used by the multimedia system with the Harmony OS "shell" from Huawei. With its help, integration with other gadgets of the Chinese brand and extensive Internet capabilities are ensured. The standard equipment included adaptive LED headlights, panoramic roof glazing, front seats with ventilation and massage, cameras with a 360-degree view, adaptive cruise control with a camera and radar.

Updated version

In 2024, the crossover underwent a planned modernization, which only minimally affected the exterior. The changes were limited to the abandonment of chrome decorative elements, which received a black coating, the appearance of five new body colors, as well as a unified design for all versions of the front part.

In terms of equipment, the key innovation was the appearance of the Huawei Smart Driving System of the next generation, which acquired 11 additional cameras, three millimeter radars, and 12 ultrasonic sensors with a detection range of 200 meters. The salon stood out with front seats from the flagship crossover M9, two-layer panoramic glazing with a blockage of 99.9% of ultraviolet rays, two wireless charging zones for gadgets with a power of 50 W, a doubled number of cup holders, and a new selector of transmission operating modes. Like its predecessor, the crossover offered extensive multimedia capabilities, but now with the help of the current version of the Harmony operating system from Huawei, which differed in increased performance, an improved voice assistant, and higher-quality acoustics. The possibility of outputting almost any entertainment content to the central screen has appeared - from HD movies to video calls.

Technically, the changes affected only the appearance of additional versions. In particular, as the base version, a hybrid power plant with a 152-horsepower 1.5-liter turbo engine was offered, working in conjunction with a single electric motor located on the rear axle and producing up to 272 horsepower at peak loads. It is also used in the modification with a fully electric power plant, which is also distinguished by the presence of an increased traction battery with a capacity of 83 kWh under the floor of the cabin. With such components, the range is 602 kilometers. Depending on the version, 19- and 20-inch discs and tires are used in the crossover.
