ZODO Tire launches a plant in Cambodia

With the help of Chinese investors, Cambodia is becoming a major hub for the tire industry in Southeast Asia, and the country is already home to factories from companies such as Doublestar, General Science, Sailun, and Wanli, and on October 31, ZODO Tire manufactured its first tire at its Cambodian plant.

ZODO began building the factory in the province of Svay Rieng in December last year, and the first tire under the Rockblade brand rolled off the production line in less than 11 months. The plant's capacity will be 13.5 million passenger tires, with investment totaling around 2 billion yuan ($280 million). The Cambodian plant is the company's first production base outside of China.

"The new plant will become our overseas base, and advanced technology and strict quality control will enable us to not only meet the needs of foreign customers but also demonstrate the strength of Chinese brands on the international stage," the company said.

ZODO, founded in 2011 and based in China's Shandong province, produces tires under brands such as Fronway, Goldshield, Grenlander, Ilink, Rockblade, and Zmax. The company's current capacity is around 26 million passenger tires and 3.6 million truck tires per year.
